Hello Gene,

Great article. I really appreciate the time. I have a GE PRofile TFX22PR and the ice maker stopped working this week. No water is reaching the ice maker and the line is clear (no frozen ice). The water going into what I believe is the water inlet valve (at the bottom of the fridge) is running fine but nothing is coming up to the ice maker. The door water works just fine as does the dispenser.

So I am thinking I need a new Water Inlet Valve but I am not entirely sure. How do I use the Ohmmeter to check and see if it is working? I unplug the fridge to take the back panel off and to unplug the wires leading to the current valve. Do I then plug it back in? Where do I put the positive and negative to test if that is the problem or is it pretty much that that is the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Todd

Hi Todd,

Swap the wires between the water valve solenoids. You can use an insulated wires if the terminals have different size. Push the water dispenser lever for a few seconds and check for water in the ice maker.

If there is water, replace the ice maker.

If there is no water, replace the water valve.

If you need the correct part numbers, post the complete model number of the refrigerator.

Thanks so much Gene--We have a winner! It is the water valve. I switched the terminals and no water.

From what I can tell, it is the TFX22PR. Where else would I find the model number?

Thanks again. I look forward to ordering my part!

Todd

I hope the Model Number Locator will help.

I was told to test the control board to see if it sends 120 volts on the bake relay. I read the "how to use a multi meter" but i'm still unsure how to test this. I have a frigidaire pleb30s8ccc wall oven 220 plug. Do I leave the unit plugged in to do this and what to points would I connect with the meter?

Hello,

What seems to be a problem with the oven?

The oven stopped heating after a self clean cycle.

The first thing I would do is check the thermals fuse (#119 at the diagram) for continuity. This fuse can be reset by pushing the red button in the center of the fuse.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for Frigidaire PLEB30S8CCC Wall Oven - AppliancePartsPros.com
