Our dual up/down oven has had a problem in the upper oven for a while.
We get an F2 error message + beeping noise. A repairman told us that the sensor was ok and the the control panel (for the 17 year old model) was no longer available. He was pushing us toward a new over.......

I have to think there may be a used control panel around? And that would be cheaper than a new oven?! Do you know the part #? I am sure that fixing this is way over my head, but I'd love some advice. Is there a market for reburbed control panels, then I would find someone to install it.
My wife is very tired of one oven---the lower one, so I must solve this!

Thanks for your expertise.

Hi.

The F2 code means that the control board sensing overtemp situation.
Check the resistance of the oven sensor at room temp. around 1100ohms. If the probe is OK - then replace the control board.

The sensor Part number: WB21T10007

Thanks, Simon:

Just curious, what does the F3 error mean?

Good news that the control board is available. Any idea why I was told by our repair man that is wasn't??

Thanks for educating me!

Hi.

The F3 code usually indicates a bad temperature sensor.
