 Recently had an error code of LD on my display. I found out that this was the long drain. I checked the impeller and the drain and it was clear.
I did not realize there was a second impeller on the right side. I un did the coupling and there was my issue.
Now I have a secondary issue. During my repairs, I always had my unit unplug. After it was plugged back in, we had a power surge.
Now when I plug in my unit, the display unit is blank no codes, no minute display or any lighting at all.
The unit starts to place water in the tub. The locking mechanism goes through a rotation. Then the unit starts to beep much like when there is an error code or the end of a cycle.
My question is. Does anyone have any advise? I believe the issue is either a machine and motor control board or Control Electric panel. Is there any test or way to narrow down my options to where I dont have to buy both.
Thanks for your time. James

Hi James The irony and dilemma here is that whatever we can do to troubleshoot this involves the display, and since your display is not working there does not appear any way to test things out. It is likely your control board is the problem since the machine will start up, but the only way to check it is to replace it. Here is the service manual, so that if you can get it going and still have problems you can do further diagnostics. https://secured.whirlpoo...73421b/$FILE/8178583.pdfGood luck.
