Hi,
Somebody has given me a washing machine, a top load Kenmore which is pretty old, but I can't find the model number. I went yesterday to buy a drain hose for it since it didn't come with it, and it was supposed to fit into any machine perfectly. It did fit in the wall cold water outlet, but not in my machine!
The washer has a white hose-like extension with a red button on top and I have no idea what it does. I can't plug my drain hose into that extension because the extension is too big!

What do I do? Do I need to replace the hose or is there a way to install it that I don't know?

We really cannot help you without a model number. I can only suggest you take measurements of what you need and see if you can buy a utility hose at a Home Depot or Lowes type store.
