Alternatives for a sticky button on a Maytag MCE8000AYW

My Maytag Neptune Dryer Model #MCE8000AYW is having issues with a sticking Air Fluff button.
Running the diagnostics anticlimactically identified a sticky button (8) and recommends replacement of the Control Panel with Membrane. Unfortunately the Control Panel with Membrane is a $300+ part.
I don't believe we've ever used the Air Fluff button, but the fact that it is stuck will occasionally switch cycles from Dry to Fluff, resulting in wet clothes, and beeps randomly throughout the day.
Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this problem without replacing the control panel with membrane, keeping in mind that a result that does not allow me to use Air Fluff is okay.
All insights are appreciated,
Todd

I have the same issue with my dryer. I was wondering if you found a solution to the problem that doesn't involve purchasing a new membrane.
Thanks.
