I have the GE Profile Dryer Service Manual (Model# DCVH515EF0WW)

Problem: High-pitched squeaking sound from door area

Solution: Replace glides due to excessive wear. I ordered the 2 sets of replacement glides from Appliancepros.com

Repair Status: I've gotten as far as completing Front Panel step #4 on Page 29 (Removed Top Panel, Control Panel and I'm in process of trying to remove the Front Panel) BUT- It seems that the Front Panel which includes the door assembly is still attached (see part@# 502 in the Front Panel diagram on your website) to the dryer drum when I try to lift it off??? There nothing in the GE Service Manual that says to remove the #502 door assembly screws. My assumtion is that I still need to remove the door assembly #502 screws to remove the front panel successfully? Your advice and knowledge is welcome.

I just took my front panel off. After removing the two screws that retain the top panel and the top panel, I laid the machine on its back and removed one screw from each side attaching the front panel to each side panel. These two screws are inside about 3" down from the top. Then the front came right off. If the drum won't release the front panel, it may be due to the damaged slides.
