Maytag side by side, model MSD2652KES. Ice maker works. Dispenses ice as cubes, but when switched tocrushed ice, no difference, still cubes. The motor runs to turn the ice auger, whether ice cubes or crushed ischosen.

Hi.

There are three reasons for this problem to exist:

- Bad auger motor.
- Bad control board.
- bad icecrasher bin.

Pull out the ice bin, tape the door switch and check if the auger motor will reverse the rotation when you are changing from cubes to crashed ice.
If it does - the problem is with the ice crasher bin.
If not - using the multimeter check for 120v between Blue and White wires at the motor for CW rotation and Orange and White for CCW rotation.
If you are getting the 120v to the motor and it's not reversing - replace the motor.
If not - replace the high voltage control board.

The auger motor Part number: 67003226
Part number: 67003226

The HV control board Part number: 67006743
Part number: 67006743

The board is inside the dispenser.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag MSD2652KES REF - SXS/I&W | AppliancePartsPros.com

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Same issue with Maytag MSD2357HES. Can’t access motor wires to check voltage. How likely is it the board vs. the motor?
