I am having a leak problem off of my icetray on this side by side MSD2432GR. After the icetray fills, there is a constant drip of water off the bottom of the icetray assembly. This leads to water freezing in the ice bin. There is also water accumulating/freezing on the bottom of the freezer as well. I'm not sure if this is from the icetray drip or something else.
I had a repair man in for a warranty issue for another problem and asked him about this leak. He took a quick look in the back and suggested the problem would be fixed by replacing the entire icemaker assembly as he didn't think it was an inlet valve issue.
Does anyone have any additional ideas? Does the icetray assembly have it's own valve to prevent water from entering the tray?
I have not done anything yet. I have replaced the filter approximately 7 months ago.

I've found that if the coating that is on the ice mold is cracked or peeling, water will penetrate the aluminum casting and drip. I hope that answers your problem.

Thanks. I will check that out tonight. Someone else had mentioned the same thing. I am planning on removing the ice maker and letting it dry overnight. Checking the lining, and at the same time making sure the water inlet valve is not leaking. I will post what happens.

Spot on Nobull. took the tray out and the liner looks like it was sitting out in the desert for a year. makes me wonder what was flaking off in the ice cubes. so far no leak from the water inlet. thank you very much.
