Hello Folks. Problem with my Fridigaire Gallery Model FRS26ZSEB1. Side By Side. It runs all the time. The Ice Maker also just failed. I clean the coils on a regular basis, I have the cardboard installed on the lower rear of unit. The freezer's temp is -4d. When I tap on the freezer control knob (lightly) the pump shut down, but starts again minutes later. I recently had a professional serviceman check the ice maker and determined it was faulty. I was told that it's not uncommon for my fridge to run most of the day, quite obvious I will not call him again. The tapping of the control knob inside the freezer and the frididaire goes quite, what would cause that to happen. What part would I be looking at for replacement.
I appreciate your combined knowledge/experience
Thanks

Sounds like the temperature control in the freezer is bad. What exactly is wrong with the ice maker? - The temperature control Part number: 5303300027

It all started with the icemaker stalled, wouldn't do anything. I checked the water valve with a 110 jumper and it worked. Subsequently after playing it for a few days, I found the fill tube plugged with ice. That taken care of, it made ice a few cycles then started to over flow with water, filling the container with two inches of frozen water. I tried everything I know to bring it back to like, to no avail. I removed the unit and examined for anything that could leak, all looked fine. If it would fill with the right amount of water then cycle all would be good. Seems to be doubling up on the water in one cycle. The temp is around -4dg in the freezer. I pulled off the white cover and didn't see anything obviously wrong. I did turn the control that limits the water and haven't had the time to re-install it. The service man said ice makers dont last that long, being mine is old it should be replaced. Not satisfied with his assumption, and the 100 bucks involved I'll play with it alittle longer.

According to the description you posted, the problem is a bad water inlet valve. - The water inlet valve Part number: 218658000
