The dryer heater continues to heat after dryer door is opened. It gets red hot and does not shut off until I return knob to off position. I have replaced all four thermostats, motor, heater and the timer. I have had a repairman out twice whose is stumped. Says he has never seen this problem before.

I was getting ready to tell you that the centrifugal switch on the motor or a shorted heater "could be" the culprit but you say the motor & heater have already been replaced. Question, do you have and know how to use a volt meter?

Question, do you have and know how to use a volt meter? Yes we have a volt meter. We also found the problem. It was shorting out. The coils on the heater were touching the base on one side and shorting out the heater. Thanks for trying to help I appreciate it.
