Gas dryer fires gas only once = igniter works AOK

Hot surface igniter works fine. After first cycle of gas and heat, gas never flows even though igniter glows. Leave dryer off for 1 hour; one cycle of gas....flame...heat...flame out. One minute latter, igniter lights but never get gas/flame. Coils measure resistance. Could the gas valve be bad after it heats up the first time of a new cycle?
Appreciate any ideas. Gary

Thank you for the reply. I measure resistance in both coils so neither one is open. They get warm to the touch after a starting the dryer. Could the problem be in the valve assembly where the coils open the gas route? Maybe I should replace the entire burner assembly with valve and both coils?

I know you said the coils are fine by a resistance check, but what I am telling you is to replace them!! They are the reason for your problem....NOT THE GAS VALVE!! I have serviced many of these dryers for the problem you described and have fixed the problem inexpensively with replacing the coils. With 18 years experience my wife wife will tell you that I am not wrong very often and she hates me for that reason LOL :D

WORKS like new! You know your dyers. Thank you Mr. Ripley for your help. I hope to get another 5 years of service out of this Maytag.

I am a complete novice, but I'd like to try solving this exactly issue on my Maytag MDG7600AWW. I replaced the fuse (Part #AP285207) earlier today and thought the issue would be resolved. Of course, this followed searching for lint build-up and the like.
Gas coil replacement? As I looked inside and I think I know what you are indicating -- is there a "trick" for getting the coils off? Are they soldered on or is it just the screw?
