On the upper rack assbly diagram, the spray holes on the mid spray arm are pointed upward. On a few of the repair posts the pictures supplied by owners the holes are pointed down! Which way is correct? thank you

I have never seen a unit with the holes facing down.
They face up so they can clean in glasses etc. on the upper rack.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for General Electric GSD6900J00WW Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

Check that it manually spins easily.

Check that the angled holes at the ends of the spray arm are clear of debris.

Check that it seals OK onto the rear water supply tube.

Check/clean the sump and the filter under the bottom spray arm.

Check the water fill level. Most units fill to just under the heating element.
If unsure you can check it by adding a couple quarts of hot water after a fill. If it now spins OK then low fill is the probable cause. Just be careful to not overfill it.
