My Kenmore refrigerator quit making ice. I replaced the ice maker about 2 years ago when it was freezing up due to over fill and the ice maker has been working fine until now. There is no water in the ice maker. I am getting water out of the chilled water faucet in the door. Could this be the value on the bottom back of the refrigerator? Please advise how to check for this or any other potential issues and applicable part numbers to repair. Thanks.

Hi.

The easy way to check the water valve is to switch around the solenoid plugs at the valve and press the drinking water lever.
If the icemaker starts filling up - that means it's bad.
Also check if the inlet tube to the icemaker is frozen. If that the case - you need a new water valve.
For more details and part numbers please provide the complete model number.

Thank you.

Simon.
