We can get water out of the dispenser but it will not go into make ice. Is it because a section of the hose is frozen. We had some techs come out and put some insulation around part number AP3188462 would this be the problem. And if so we do not know how to disconnect the hose, we see the 2 screws top and left side but do we have to replace the hose when replacing this part?

The part you mentioned is the water tank for the water dispenser

Part number: AP3188462
Part number: AP3188462

and has nothing to do with the ice maker. Can you describe more specifically what is wrong with the ice maker?

Here are the breakdown diagrams for the GE refrigerator Model PSS27NGNABB

The unit does not make any ice. check to see if the unit was cloged but the lines appear to be okay. Since dismantleing the unit this morning it has made a few cubes, but has taken all day for seven cubes.

The unit changes between 0 and -1 on the temp setting. This is what it has always been set at.

Susan,

Can you buy a simple mercury refrigerator thermometer, put it in the freezer for a few hours and post the reading? What ever the display shows at this point is not creditable.
