My problem with the KUDS02FRSS1 whirlpool dishwasher unit, water wont get to unit. When placing ear to door, I hear noise as if it's trying to get water *(yes, water on) previous issue, hose replaced 2 months prior to new "this issue". we had similar issue with water not getting into unit, (which we were advised to replace hose). fix worked great until the same day of problem, the town flushed out the fire hydrants (which caused every sink/tub/shower/toilet in our home, to get an air-pocket Could town flushing out our water system cause the dishwasher to not get water? If so, what do I need to replace to get it working again. I really love how this dishwasher cleans (prior to issues) all suggestions welcome only dishwasher that works now is ME :(

One of two things: The Solenoid valve that your hose is connected to is either not getting voltage or the valve is stuck shut. I would replace the water valve if you're hearing it hum.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Whirlpool KUDS02FRSS1 UNDERCOUNTER DISHWASHER | AppliancePartsPros.comFollowing is a post I just did for a similar problem. I just modified it for your machine. My guess is that when they flushed the systems crud came loose from inside the pipes and it is now plugging your valve. If it is plugged then before re-installing it drain some water out of your hot water tank odds are that it is also has crud in it. Also turn the shut off valve (hopefully you have one) on a little to flush out the dishwasher line. There can be several causes. I would check that the float (Item 15 in Section 4) is activating the float (overfill) switch(item 11 in Section 4) Sometimes due to crud etc. it can get stuck in the up position so the unit thinks it is already full. If OK check that the fill valve (Item 15 in Section 4) is getting 120 volts when it should be filling. If it is then either the fill valve is toast or the screen filter on the input side is plugged. Remove the valve and check/clean the screen filter. If it is clean replace the valve. If dirty clean it. Do not permanently remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which would hold it open and cayuse a flood. If there is no voltage check for voltage (120 volts) across the overfill switch. If there is voltage then the fill switch is toast. If there is no voltage then check across the valve and switch combo (they are wired is series) if there is no voltage then odds are your timer is toast. |
