I have received the parts to repair my freezer and the defrost thermostat is different and it is not clear as how to mount it to the coils. The old part had a built-on clip and the new part came with 2 brackets. Can you tell me how to mount it?

Looks like it came with instructions, were they in the package?

Appears you'll put the appropriate clip over the t-stat, with the hole going over the small "post", then attach where the old one was.

I can't see what the instruction sheet actually says, but it appears GE has substituted the original to this kit, which probably fits many different models.

The response didn't help me on how to mount the thermostat. There just doesn't seem to be a way to mount it as before. Perhaps you could look at one of the parts and see if you can tell how to mount it on a coil.
