My freezer is cold, But every time I walk by it seems like its running. I keep it monitored by a Chaney Freezer Thermometer. The temperature is steady at +6 degrees. Which is a litter warmer than usual. It used to keep around -5 to 0 degrees. About 6 months ago I noticed it was building ice at the bottom, So I unplugged for several days, cleaned it real good and ran a wire down the drain in the bottom center. I did not notice this problem until the last 2 weeks. I have it 1/2-3/4 full of pork that I had processed. Any ideas?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Frigidaire F82U14F3W0 Frg(v0) / Freezer | AppliancePartsPros.comIs the evaporator/freezer fan running? If not that could be your problem. Remove the rear cover so you can inspect the evaporator coils. If heavily iced/frosted over you probably have a defrost problem. If there is just frost in one area (usually where the freon enters the coils), you may have a sealed system problem. Also check you door seal. Sounds like the compressor is trying to reach set point but for some reason cannot. |

I don't know what fan is running, I'm not sure if the compressor is running or not. But If I turn the thermostat down it does shut off.

I don't know what fan is running, From what I can see there is only one fan in this unit and it is inside the unit at the back. I'm not sure if the compressor is running or not. But If I turn the thermostat down it does shut off. Not sure I understand. If the thermostat shuts it off then it must be on. You can usually hear it also you should be able to feel it vibrating and is should be warm.
Your problem can have several causes so it is important to troubleshoot it as one of the causes will probably require replacing the freezer. |
