Hi,
I have a top load Whirlpool Imperial washer that is approx. 3 years old. It seems to agitate and rinse fine, but the final spin sometimes works and sometimes does not. When this happens, resetting the dial to another spin cycle (high or low) eventually starts the spin. Any ideas where to start? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The clutch in these models tends to wear out, but yours is somewhat young to be doing this. Still I think that's the most likely problem assuming that the motor is turning.

Take off the cabinet and observe the motor running in the spin mode. If it is and the machine is not spinning, or spinning slowly replace the clutch.

Here is the part

and here is a site that will take you through the process.
