My whirlpool washing machine model number lxr6232wqo decided to quit working yesterday. The agitator stoped working and it makes a loud buzzing noise also it will not drain. I am trying to do this myself and I thought that maybe it was the agitator i took it apart and of course mine was different then the ones they had videos. the piece in the middle of it is one solid piece. so i dont know where they agitarot peices are at in it. Then to even take it the rest of the washer apart i have to have a new kind of tool.. I am trying to keep this at the lowest cost possible because i dont have the money to pay someone to come out and fix it. thanks for any help in advance.

Hi.

Does the washer motor runs at all?
Try to locate where the buzzing sound comes from.

Post the results.

Simon.

I am pretty sure its coming from the motor. It was working fine and it was half way threw the 1st spin cycle when it stoped and a loud buzzing noise started. So i shut it off so it wouldnt cause any more damage if any at all. I have been searching for a guide repair online but havent had any luck. like i said i do know that when its on making the noise the middle doesnt move.

Hi.

You will need to check several things.

Use the video from "motor replacement" clip to remove the cabinet.
Install the jumper wire at the lid switch plug (outside wires).
Remove the pump from the motor and start the washer on the spin.
If the washer starts look inside the pump what is jamming it.
If not, remove the motor (keep the plug on ) and start the washer.
If it works - you have a bad transmission.
If not - check the start capacitor, mounted on the side of the motor.
Remove two wires, discharge capacitor and using the multimeter check it. You should read between 189-227MFD.
Check the wire harness at the motor and timer.
If everything checks OK - then most likely it's bad motor.

The motor Part number: 661600
Part number: 661600
