Greetings,
The timer on my Kenmore dryer will not advance and the dryer will not shut off. It heats, tumbles, and dries but will not turn off unless the timer is manually turned to the off position or the door is opened. The dryer does not automatically start back when the door is closed, but will restart once the start button is depressed. It also does not go through the cool-down cycle.

It sounds as though it could be the timer, but I want to be sure before I drive 4 hours to go over and repair it and I want to ensure that I carry the correct parts with me. There were mouse pellets in the back of the dryer so it is conceivable that a wire may have been chewed.

Sears Lady Kenmore HD, 110.7208901W, timer P/N 346279.

Thank you, Doug

Hi Doug,

If there is nothing wrong with wires then the timer has to be replaced.

The timer has been discontinued by the manufacturer and the only place where you might find it is Sears.

Gene.
