I purchased this Thermador used. To my disappointment after hooking it up to gas I have found a few problems.
The two xlo burners are not working. I checked the voltage and they are not good. reading other posts I found that the potentiometer is not working I will purchase this part. My other problem is that the broiler and oven are not working. I see the ignitors are both turning red and working. Will purchasing the potentiometer fix this issue or is there another control that opens the gas valve for the oven and broiler? I read another post that showed i have to replace the thermostat? is this accurate?

Thank you for the help

Hi.

In order to open the gas the ignitor has to "pull" 3.25 Amp.

Use the amp-meter to check the amp draw.

The bake ignitor Part number: AP2832933
Part number: AP2832933

The broil ignitor Part number: AP2836973
Part number: AP2836973

Her are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Thermador PRG366US GAS RANGE | AppliancePartsPros.com

Thank you. Post the results.

After leaving the ignitor on for over a minute the gas valve opens. The gas doesn't change levels and the broiler never turns on. Is it possible its the oven thermostat?

Thank You.

Hi.

The thermostat doesn't regulate the size of the flame.
The burner should ignite after approximately one minute after the ignitor start glowing.
Check the broil ignitor for continuity. If it's open - replace it.

Post the results.

Simon.
