I am trying to take the faceplate off of the kenmore side by side refigerator because the ice despenser is not working properly. I think something is broken inside there or needs to be tightened.. I can not figure out how to take the faceplate off. HELP

Thank you Gene for the information regarding taking the face plate off of our Kenmore refrigerator. It totally worked... NOW the question is....where the torson spring and pin connection is there is a plastic piece that holds the spring and pin in place on both sides. One of our sides broke causing the ice despensor to not work properly. Is there a way to get that part? It looks like it is connected to the whole unit. That would not be good because I dont know how to order a part to repair the whole unit. Can you help with this... I would very much appreciate it....Thank you so much

Look inside the refrigerator, on the right side.

Gene, Your excellent instructions were very helpful and I was able to diagnose that I have the same problem as Jessica0833. One side of the plastic support that holds the hinge pin for the door is broken. Do you have any instructions on how to remove the housing for the dispenser so that the support can be replaced? I have a Kitchenaide model KSCS251. Thanks very much for your help. Rob

Jessica,

Thank you for the model number.

I'm afraid I did not get clear which parts are you looking for. Can you review the diagram and refer to the numbers on it?

Gene.

Rob,

Unfortunately the housing is not serviceable. If you sure the problem is there then most likely the whole freezer door has to be replaced.

Gene.
