I am looking for some guidance on repairing my Maytag natural gas range model# MGR5875QDS.

Strangely, it has begun to turn itself on. When it does this it always goes into "Keep Warm" mode.

I have powered the range down completely and I have also reset all of the connectors on the printed circuit board for the control panel.

I greatly appreciate anyone's recommendations on a course of action. I am afraid to keep it plugged in.

Thanks!

Most likely the problem is a bad control board (aka a clock).

Gene,

Thank you very much for your advice. I'll order the part. Would you happen to know if there are any other electronics based components that might cause this as well?

Again, thanks for responding.

Ok. Thanks again. Just worried about the range turning itself on again while we are out or asleep. I expect the part in a few days.

Gene, wanted to close this out with a thank you for your expert assistance. I installed the new control panel last night and the range is as good as new.
