At sporatic times, I hear a fan motor inside the fridge cycling on and off.
The first time it will cycle on and off for about one to two seconds. After a couple seconds, it will try again to start, running for 3 to 4 seconds. The interval gets longer with each secessive start, ultimately staying on after about 2 to 3 minutes of starting and stopping.
I manually pulled the circut breaker to shut down the fridge, waited 4 to 5 minutes and reset the breaker, but it continued its on - off cycles until once again, it kept running.
This am, I noticed that the fan in question (evap fan?) was running, but sounded like it was running at different voltages, alternating faster, and slower.
At mid-day, I put an HVAC thermometer in the fridge and it registered 37 to 39d.F about 5 minutes later when I checked it. I held the fridge door open and the fan came on about 45f.F and sounded normal.
I'm thinking it's the fan motor, but most times it seems to run normal and the fridge cools fine.
Could it be the control-defrost,adapitive timer, PC board?
I read a lot of the posts but only found the GE fridge for instructions on pin outs to check.
Sure do appreciate any help, working here on a fixed income. Your a great asset to handy people. Thanks, Geejo
