I am cleaning my 10 yr old gas dryer and took off the lint filter housing. On the 'inside' or drum side of the housing are two metal strips which I assume are part of the automatic dampness detection system, hence the 'automatic' in the description of this automatic dryer. Each strip has an electrical connector tab, one on each end, for a total of 4 connectors, two on the left and two on the right. There are however only two red wires for connecting to these. The strips do not appear to be touching each other, or otherwise connected. So which wires connect to which strip? Left and right on opposing strips, or left and right on one strip only, leaving the other apparently useless?
Thanks for any knowledge-based insight anyone can offer.

Looking at the wiring diagram suggests you should connect one on the right of one sensor, the other on the left of the other sensor. You should have a tech sheet and wiring diagram under the console where you can confirm this.

I believe the bars are connected underneath where they are housed.

Good luck, let us know if this does not do the trick.
