i have a ge spectra electric range and it's about 5-10 yrs old that i use daily. i prepared breakfast yesterday and when i tried to prepare dinner it just wouldn't do anything, the lights and clock are working just fine and the lights come on as if the stove is working but nothing happens what could be wrong?:(

Sounds like you're not getting 240 volts to the unit, just 120. The clocks and lights use 120v where as the elements use 240v.

Check your homes breakers that feed the range. If that's not it pull the plug and then look at the terminal block where the cord attaches to the back of the range, there may be a burnt line wire.
