We have a problem with our Whirlpool top and bottom fridge/freezer. (model number ET20NKXAW03)

It has an ice maker in the freezer (not one of those kinds that has an output in the door, one that just dumps the ice into a tray in the freezer)

For awhile now, about 1 in 10 cubes of ice had a small black flake in it. Annoying, but easy to spot and get rid of.

Lately, we've been notice that as the ice cubes are melting in water it creates a "snowfall" of white flakes that fall beautifully, but disgustingly to the bottom of the glass.

Any ideas how to clean up this cloudy mess? Need more info?

Thanks in advance!

Well... I went to Home Depot and explained my plight. The guy there was confident it was lime deposit (we don't have a filter going to our ice maker). So I've installed an inline water filter and we'll see if that clears it up.
