My dryer suddenly has 2 problems, at the same time! The dryer runs, but won't get hot and the timer is not stopping. It keeps running until I open the door to stop it. It was working fine a few days ago, but now this. HELP!! Thanks.

Hi Kris

I am assuming that the dryer runs continually, the drum turns but that there is no heat, and that the only way to stop the dryer from running is to open the door or unplug it. When you close the door the dryer starts up again. Is this correct?

You should do the following test for the heat.

1. Make certain you have 120v to each side of the connection block.

2. See if you have continuity in the thermostats and thermal fuse.

3. Check the heating element for grounding and resistance (12 to 20 ohms)

Let us know the results.
