My dryer stop heating and I purchased the heating coil for the unit. My question is do I remove the front panel door and lower plate to reach the heating unit. If so, would this process be easy to complete.

To open this dryer, open the door and look at the top jamb. You should see several screws which hold the top down. Remove them and the top will come off.

You can now take off the front panel by removing two screws at the top which hold it to the frame. Be sure to disconnect the door switch, and mark or not how the wires hook up.

Take off the panel at the back, and reach in and release the dryer belt from the tensioner. You should not be able to remove the drum, although it might be necessary to unscrew it from the back of the cabinet if your model has that feature.

You can now access the heating coils.

Before you replace the coil, check the thermostats for continuity and check the coil itself to make sure that is your problem. Coils on this unit break frequently, so that may well be your source of lack of heating, but make certain that is the problem before you replace it.

Good luck.
