Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/29/2009(UTC) Posts: 5		The freezer is not freezing anything. Everything defrosted and i put a thermometer in there all night and it reads 40 degrees any ideas what may be wrong. The refrigerator side is working fine.

You can get a good indication by the temperature of the center divider. If it's hot, it's not running. If the coils need cleaned under and/or behind the unit, this will hamper the units' ability to cool. Next the rear wall of the freezer compartment should be removed. The frost pattern on the evaporator coils should cover most of the coils. If there is an ice ball at the top, you have a freon loss and repair may not be financially feasible.

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/1/2008(UTC) Posts: 0		Hello, The back freezer wall is held in with 4 screws, 2 Phillips head and 2 1/4 inch hex head. There is a gasket on either side of the rear panel. If there is caulk in place, someone has added it as it is not factory. I hope it isn't as cutting the caulk would almost surely cause scratches and cosmetic damage.
