Having problems with the coil freezing over, blocking air to the fridge. I've changed the evaporator heater. It's still freezing over. I am able to do a force defrost. Is the adaptive defrost control still good since I can initiate a force defrost?

Would the defrost heater heat up if you force the defrost? If it would, replace the ADC board. If it would not, check the defrost thermostat for continuity. - The ADC board Part number: AP4078743

Thanks!
Yes, the heater did defrost the coil. I replaced it a few days ago. I've gone ahead and ordered the ADC and thermostat. It's not too expensive just to replace the entire defrost system. The unit's about 4 yrs old.

You are welcome. Replacing all these parts definitely will make the repair much more reliable.
