My whirlpool top loader is about 7 years old and the agitator won't spin.

When I put it on high spin I get a loud knocking/ticking noise, when I put it on low spin I get a low sounding buzzing noise.

Any Ideas
Thanks

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by the agitator won't spin.

The agitator should agitate and the basket should spin.

You may want to check the motor coupling or agitator dogs depending on just what is wrong with your washer.

Sorry I guess I misunderstood how a wash machine worked.
Here is what is happening, when in the end of the cycle nothing is spinning. When I turn it directly to high spin(after the rinse cycle) I get the loud knocking noise, when I turn it to low spin(also after the rinse cycle), I get the light buzzing sound.

Thanks
