Our dryer works great except for the high pitch squeal we are now getting when it runs. It is a stacked dryer/washer combo with the dryer on top. We thought about changing the belt or maybe a bearing has gone bad but we are having a problem getting the back panel off. Can someone help with this? We can't find our manual either.

Hi Justa

I suggest you replace the belt, idler pulley and hitch joint holding the drum. Probably only one of these is your problem, but it is good maintenance to replace all three, and as long as you have the thing apart you might as well do it and be done with it.

You don't take off the back, you get to these things from the front. Here is the service manual which will take you through the process.

Good luck.
