Hi, we have a Frigidaire dishwasher that started reeking of burning electronics the other day, so I turned it off and pulled it out. It looks like the previous owners of our apartment had a leak through one of the heating element nuts, and attempted to seal it with some type of silicone.. which as I see from poking around these forums, doesn't seem like it was the right fix. As you can see in this picture, the terminal shield / little plastic tube has utterly melted on to the terminal. http://i.imgur.com/8jTDy.jpgSo, I clearly need to replace the heating element nut (AP3965251,) and the terminal shield (AP2109194) on this side. I think those parts are correct.. but I'm having a hard time finding the right replacement for the terminal. Is it AP3440575? The terminals don't seem to be anywhere in the plans, so I can't confirm the part number - plus, I don't know how to be sure I have the right tools and know-how to install it. Any advice is much appreciated.

Any advice is much appreciated. According to the picture you posted the heating element terminal is damaged too. That means you have to replace the whole heating element as well. The part numbers for the nut and shield are correct. The wire terminal, connected to the heating element, should be fully insulated. The terminals, you mentioned, are not. Unfortunately Frigidaire does not sell it separate. You can order the whole harness or shop around for such terminal. In order to attach such solderless terminal to the wire you will need a special crimping tool which you can find in any hardware store.
