Please Help!!

The "flapper door" of the throught the door ice maker on my fridge won't open automatically. You have to stick your fingers in the dispenser and pull it open. What can be my problem?

Thanks in advance!

On these models the solenoid that pulls the crank down (#67) will often rust and will cause your problem. Replace the solenoid if this is the case.

Open the freezer door and peel the door gasket back. If screws hold on the door gasket it is a good chance it will rust again. Replacing the doors is the only way to repair this to prevent this from happening again. Only problem the doors are expensive and the solenoid is not so you might want to just replace the solenoid it might last a while.
