When moving several weeks ago the top to my Kenmore dryer got dented and the drum would hit making a loud scraping noise. A friend of mine removed the back and hit the top from underneath with his hand and got it popped up enough to prevent the scraping. Everything worked fine until I put a basket of laundry on top of the dryer and now it's making the scraping noise again. My friend is unavailable to come over to fix it again for a while. I would like to lift the top up so I could get the dent popped out better this time. Would this be something that I could easily do myself? Would it be too complicated to lift the top?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you so much for the link! It has some great pictures and instructions of how to do what I need and more.

These forums are great. Learning how to do something myself makes me feel empowered, lol.
