The dryer motor works sporadically. Usually works well when cold, but if doing multiple loads, needs coaxing to start up again. I have considered the possibility of the problem being the door switch, but most likely the drum motor. Even when the drum does not spin, the heat does come on. Is there any way to be certain prior to investing in a new motor? Also, if I need the motor, what is the best way to access it? Front or back?
Thank You!

GE is notoriously close with their technical information, so most of us do not have access to any of the testing specs.

On the other hand, they usually provide owners with the info in tech sheets that are in the console. Open the console and see if there is a tech sheet which will allow you to test the drive motor.

If not, or if you cannot be certain that it is the motor, I think it is a good possibility that replacing it will solve your problem. You will access it from the front by removing the drum.

Good luck.
