Hello all!

Ok, here is my problem:

Maytag Performa PAV3300AWW is not agitating;

The transmission spins freely with the belt removed and makes no noise,
The lid switch is working properly,
The belt is in good condition,
The motor works,
The timer advances past the agitation cycle and engages the spin cycle,
All other functions work perfectly, only the agitation does not function.

I jumped the lid switch, just to be sure, and it works fine. I connected the agitation wire directly to the power supply and it DOES agitate in this fashion.

I think I have narrowed it down to a switch problem, is the timer bad? if so, is this part easy to fix or will it need to be replaced?

CC,
Based on your post, I'd have to agree with you, you've either got a bad contact in the timer or a loose broken wire to the motor.
The Timer Part number: AP4024544
Part number: AP4024544
cannot be repaired, it would need to be replaced. It's not a "hard" repair to make, just a bit tricky. You'll need a small flatblade screwdriver to withdraw the timer knob lock shaft on the back of the timer about 3/8 of an inch to remove the knob, then to release the locking tab, on the timer to remove it, all from the back of the control panel.

Thanks,
:) :) :)

Hi.

To properly diagnose this problem I need more info.
Does the washer fills with the water?
If it does is the motor works?

Post the results.

Joe, Thanks for the reply, I suppose I should check each wire for breaks with a volt meter before replacing the timer.

Simon, yes, the washer does fill with water to different levels per the selector switch, and drains and refills fine, it just doesn't agitate.

Hi.

Most likely the problem is the timer.
