Sometimes it is difficult to get the old timer off, it may be that there is a cover on it that you pry off to get to a clip, or it may be that you pull off the timer knob and can take it off with screws. Either way you will figure it out. Take off the back panel, unplug the old, take it off, put on the new, and you should be fine. Good luck.
