I was told the timer to be replace and I did it. However, the washing machine cycle will not advance with the new timer and same with the old timer. Is there something else that may be malfuctioning? Or it too expensive to repair and it is time to get a new one.
Thanks

Hi Chiko, Most likely the problem with your washer is a bad main control board which should control the timer advancing. - The part number for the main control board is AP251699 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag Neptune washer Model MAH4000AWQGood luck. Gene.

There are 2 timers for the model Maytag that I have (LAT9406AAE), and they look exactly the same. Apparently they are wired different. You probably have the wrong timer.

I was told the control board needed to be replaced and I did that. Now the washing machine cycle is not advancing with the new control board. Can you tell me what is the next step?
thanks mike
