Suggest you read of my experience under the thread "Glo Plug Bad?". If it is not too difficult exchanging the igniter from the Broiler you could do that; however, in my experience with the igniter replacement that I just accomplished, I noticed that the old igniter element was very fragile from aging and broke with the slightest vibration. This experience would caution against trying to use an igniter that already has some mileage on it. As I also note in my Thread, I had what I thought was a bright, intense glow from the igniter but it was concentrated in the middle of the igniter instead of being spread across the entire element. Maybe, this is your situation also. Good Luck!
