It takes an hour or more for this dryer - commercial with stainless steel drum 7.1 cu ft, energy saver- to dry a load of cottons. We clean the lint filter with every load. It gets plenty hot and spins well. It has a short vent hose, about a foot long. Our old dryer seemed to be much faster.

Hi Resloan
That does seem excessive.
If a dryer is heating correctly and tumbling the clothes, and not drying in a reasonable amount of time then there is insufficient air flow.
You need to take off the blower cover and make sure the blower is operating correct and that there is no internal obstruction in the venting.
If this checks out, then possibly your thermostats are not working correctly. Take off the vent to the outside and test the temperature on the exhaust.
Let us know what you find out.

Any disassembly instructions available for the unit?
