My Whirlpool upright freezer drain clogs and ices up every two to three months, and I drag out the blow drier and ice pick, towels and sponges lots of hot water and sponges an go to work. Eventually I get her cleaned out, put household bleach down the drain and close things up. I do put blech down the drain every month (1 oz) but she still end sup clogging again. Is this system (drain port and tubing ) removable, if so does she just pop up (maybe push out from the bottom) I would like to remove and replace the current drain but have no idea how to get it out of the chasis. Also anyone else have a better solution to keep the drain open?

OK, I think what I want to do is attach a piece of copper wire to the heater and run it down the drain port, Is the heater on the back side of the evaporator or beneath the evaporator?
