I noticed the left lid hinge was a little loose. Tightened it and voila! Machine now works! thanks.

lid switch does not make any sense by that situation

Left side hinge has a hook on the right side  which engages lid switch Loose lid hinge did not do it properly and there were no power to the washer parts. Gene.
