Dryer heats intermittantly. Seems to fire up the first couple times after I disassemble but frequently not when drying clothes.
When not working I can see the ignitor glowing, attemtping to ignite it but then kicks off. I do not hear the gas valve come on or gas flowing during this process.
I have replaced the flame sensor.
Looking at the schematics, it doesn't look like the ignitor would come on if any of temp sensors were tripped but I checked voltage across the 2 on the source-side (flame side) ducting while the ignitor was glowing and both read 0vac - (assumably closed)
The only thing I can see would be sticking gas valve.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any and all help!!!

Does this sound like the gas valve or could it be something else?
Thanks

Originally Posted by: kayakcrzy Hi Tom (or anyone), I just ordered the coils but I just found a new symptom (or a better description of the original symptoms). It heats the first temp control cycle of a load (about 7 minutes) but doesn't come back on after that. However If I open the door and let it set 5 or 10 minutes without running, then start it again, it will run another cycle. Did I properly check everything as described in my first message? Is there something I'm missing or does it still sound like it could be the coils? PS. I've never said it but I cleaned the duct work, etc. Also, on a separate subject, has anyone heard of some type of vent assist blower? Our dryer has to push the air all the way up through the attic and out the roof - quite a long haul... Thanks again for your help... Keith
