The icemaker won't fill on our fridge. We have tested both water valves, and both test that they are working properly. None of the fill tubes are frozen, and if you fill the tray with water, it will freeze and kick out the cubes. It just won't fill the tray again. The lines or filters are not clogged either. The water will run on the dispenser, but it does have some hesitation. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem and I just replaced the primary water valve. Not sure what the next step is. I replaced the valve about five years ago for the same reason, but this time it didn't fix the problem.

Make sure the temperature in the freezer is bellow 10°F. Remove the ice maker head cover. Measure the voltage between the test points "L" & "N". Make sure the test probes go into the test points at least 1/2". If there is about 120 VAC reading, short the test probes "T" & "H" with an insulated piece of wire (14 ga) to run the motor. If the motor does not run, replace the ice maker. If the motor runs, remove the jumper and the water valve should be energized in the last half of the revolution. If it did energized, then the ice maker thermostat is bad. Replace the ice maker. If there is no 120 VAC between the "L" & "N" test points, check the black wire from the ice maker harness for continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the wire harness. - The ice maker Part number: AP4135008

I can hear the water supply line bang slightly when the valve closes and there is a small amount of water in the tray. Is there any way to check for a blockage in the supply to the icemaker?

You can access the tube after removing the ice maker.
You also can disconnect the tube from the water valve and try to blow some air through it.

I noticed that when I fill a glass from the water dispenser it takes about five seconds before water comes out. I'm wondering if the same delay is causing the problem with the ice maker. I can find no evidence of a water leak, either behind the fridge or under the sink where the line is connected. Can water be pulled back through the line causing this delay? How can I fix it? Kent

Kent,
Did you run the test I recommended previously?
If you did, what was the result?

No, I don't have the necessary equipment. Is there a mechanism in the ice-maker that would cause the delay in the water dispenser?
