My electric viking stovetop will not turn off by the knob. I have to keep turning the knob and eventually it will go off. I am afraid to use that burner because a few times I thought it was off but it was not and the pan was burning! It is a fire hazard!

Very likely the problem is a bad switch for this burner. Unfortunately I'm not able to provide more specific advice on this product because Viking keeps all technical information as a top secret.
Gene.
