The problem with my washer is that it won't stop filling if it is put on warm. On cold or hot it works just fine. But it just keeps on filling on warm. Please help. I have no idea what to do when it comes to fixing appliances and I can't afford to have it looked at. Thanks Christy

Hi Christy

Well this is just plain weird, because the control of the water level is done with an air pressure switch, that is ignorant of the temperature of the water.

I would take off the front of the machine (insert a screw drive or putty knife in the gap between the top and front at the outer edges to release clips) and take off the console and make sure the clear plastic tube running from the tub to the pressure switch is clear of debris.

If this does not fix it, then your water temp selection switch would be the next part to replace, and then maybe the timer, but if money is an issue, and it is for all of us, and you do not want to take the chance on new parts just run it on hot or cold. I know, not the correct solution, but an economical one considering the cost of repair.

Good luck, and we are really curious to learn if you find out something.

Thank you sooo much! I took the front off the washer and the clear tube you talked about was clogged. So very carefully we cleaned it out with a tooth pick and the end of a metal cloths hanger. We started it back up on warm and it worked. Thanks again for taking the timeout to help.
