Dryer was working fine. Went to turn on. the timer will run. but machine will not turn on. Wasn't sure if it would be the door sensor or something else.

The door sensor you refer to is a door switch. You can check it for continuity and also check the thermal fuses and thermostats for continuity.

If this is an electric dryer, check to make sure you are getting 120 volts to each side of the connection block.

You will need to do this with an electrical test meter.

Good luck, these tests should locate your problem.
