There is a small hole about the size of a quarter where the soap is dispensed through for the smart dispenser. The rubber piece that is the conduit for the soap has been pushed back into the door and it appears that water can get into the door when a cycle runs. I don't use this feature but it appears that water can get inside the door when the machine is running. My question is can I get a pair of needle nose plyers and try and pull this rubber piece back into place or do I even need to be concerned about this. My concern is that water in the door can eventually cause damage to my dishwasher.

If you don’t get the tube back in place water will leak onto your floor. You may be able to get it with needle nose pliers but I would take the panel off the front of the door to avoid tearing the tube. You can remove the front by removing the two screws at the bottom of the door that point upward and the screws around the inside door. Once the screws are out the door will drop down so hold it so it doesn’t come falling down damaging the front. Once the front is off you shouldn’t have any trouble getting the tube back in place.

With that being said there is a chance that the tube is already damaged because it shouldn’t have ended up inside the door to start with. You may end up having replace the tube.
